NBA Playoffs: Timberwolves vs. Nuggets Total Games O/U 5.5 100% YES0% NO

Market context

The 2026 NBA Playoffs First Round matchup between the Minnesota Timberwolves and Denver Nuggets will determine whether their series extends beyond six games. A resolution to "Over" requires at least seven games played; anything six games or fewer settles "Under". The settlement window closes 31 May 2026 at 23:59 ET, with partial series resolved according to games completed by that deadline.

First-round series outcomes in recent NBA history show that matchups between evenly matched conference contenders frequently extend to seven games. The Timberwolves and Nuggets have developed competitive parity since Denver's 2023 championship run, with Minnesota reaching the Western Conference Finals in 2024. Historical data from 2019–2024 indicates roughly 45% of first-round series go the distance, particularly when both teams maintain top-four seeding. The current order book probability of 100% YES reflects either extreme confidence in series length or insufficient liquidity at current pricing, suggesting traders perceive material edge in backing the over.

Key variables include roster stability through the 2025–26 season, injury status entering the playoffs, and playoff seeding positioning. The Nuggets' depth and Nikola Jokic's consistency have historically favoured extended series play, whilst Minnesota's defensive intensity under their coaching staff creates competitive friction. Schedule compression in late May could theoretically impact game spacing, though the NBA typically spaces first-round games to accommodate venue availability. Monitor late-season standings in March–April 2026 and any significant injury developments to either roster, as these directly influence series competitiveness.

How active is this market?

$14K in lifetime turnover and $0 of resting liquidity puts this market in the below the median by volume for nba contracts on PolyGram. Order-book depth is thin — large orders may need to be split across the book or executed as limit orders.

The market has been open for under a month — fresh enough that information asymmetry remains a real factor.

Higher-volume markets tend to have tighter spreads and faster price discovery — meaning the displayed YES/NO percentages are more likely to reflect the true crowd-implied probability rather than a single trader's directional view.
