The Stake Ranked Episode 2 Playoffs features a Counter-Strike upper bracket quarterfinal between Argentine side 9z and Sharks, scheduled for 27 May at 1:30PM ET. This best-of-three match determines progression in a competitive regional tournament. The current order book on Polymarket reflects a 62% implied probability for 9z victory, suggesting market participants view them as moderate favourites despite both teams operating within the same regional ecosystem.
9z has established itself as a consistent performer in South American Counter-Strike, whilst Sharks represent a capable challenger with recent tournament appearances. Historical precedent in regional playoffs shows that seeding and recent form matter substantially; teams entering upper bracket quarterfinals typically carry momentum from earlier rounds. The 62% probability sits within a reasonable range for a matchup between established regional competitors, neither representing an overwhelming favourite nor suggesting significant uncertainty about relative capability.
Traders should monitor team roster stability through to the settlement deadline on 27 May at 23:30 UTC, as last-minute lineup changes or player availability issues occasionally affect South American esports fixtures. Schedule confirmation remains critical—any postponement beyond seven days from the original date triggers a 50-50 resolution per market terms. Match broadcasts typically occur on regional streaming platforms; confirmation of live play and final scoreline will be the primary resolution catalyst. No recent announcements suggest complications, though fixture delays in regional tournaments do occur.

This market settles from the official outcome published at https://kick.com/starladder. A proposer submits the final result to the UMA optimistic oracle on Polygon; the two-hour dispute window closes and payouts clear in USDC.
The mechanics for trading "Counter-Strike: 9z vs Sharks (BO3) - Stake Ranked Episode 2 Playoffs" are the same as any other PolyGram event contract. Each YES share resolves to $1 if the event happens, or $0 if it doesn't. The current price between 0¢ and 100¢ is the market's probability estimate, set live by the order book.
$25 in lifetime turnover and $5K of resting liquidity puts this market in the below the median by volume for esports contracts on PolyGram. Order-book depth is thin — large orders may need to be split across the book or executed as limit orders.
Last 24 hours alone saw $9 in turnover, well above the lifetime daily-average for this market — a clear sign of news catalysing trader activity right now.
The market has been open for under a month — fresh enough that information asymmetry remains a real factor.
Higher-volume markets tend to have tighter spreads and faster price discovery — meaning the displayed YES/NO percentages are more likely to reflect the true crowd-implied probability rather than a single trader's directional view.
