Hanwha Life Esports and Dplus KIA will compete in the upper bracket semifinal of the Esports World Cup Korea Qualifier Playoffs on 12 May, with the winner advancing directly to the finals. The match is a best-of-three format scheduled for 6:00 AM ET. Currently, Polymarket's order book shows 0% implied probability for a Hanwha Life victory, suggesting traders are pricing in a near-certain Dplus KIA win or significant uncertainty about match execution.
Dplus KIA enters as the stronger-favoured side based on recent League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) performance and roster stability. The team has maintained consistent top-four finishes in the domestic league and possesses experienced players across all roles. Hanwha Life, whilst competitive, has historically struggled against top-tier opposition in high-stakes playoffs. Previous matchups between these organisations and comparable qualifier tournaments show Dplus KIA winning approximately 65–70% of encounters, though single best-of-three matches carry inherent variance.
Traders should monitor official LCK and Esports World Cup communications for any schedule changes, player roster confirmations, or technical issues that could delay the match beyond the 7-day resolution window. Recent patch notes affecting champion viability and any last-minute roster swaps would shift preparation dynamics. The settlement window closes at 16:00 UTC on 12 May, providing a narrow window for match completion. Any cancellation or tie would trigger a 50-50 resolution, fundamentally altering current market pricing.

The mechanics for trading "LoL: Hanwha Life Esports vs Dplus KIA (BO3) - Esports World Cup Korea Qualifier Playoffs" are the same as any other PolyGram event contract. Each YES share resolves to $1 if the event happens, or $0 if it doesn't. The current price between 0¢ and 100¢ is the market's probability estimate, set live by the order book.
$1.8M in lifetime turnover and $2 of resting liquidity puts this market in the top 2% by volume for esports contracts on PolyGram. Order-book depth is thin — large orders may need to be split across the book or executed as limit orders.
Last 24 hours alone saw $49K in turnover, consistent with the market's lifetime daily-average pace.
The market has been open for under a month — fresh enough that information asymmetry remains a real factor.
Higher-volume markets tend to have tighter spreads and faster price discovery — meaning the displayed YES/NO percentages are more likely to reflect the true crowd-implied probability rather than a single trader's directional view.
Resolution is sourced from https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lONqhHZW5mk. Settlement is executed by the UMA optimistic oracle on Polygon, with a 2-hour dispute window before payouts clear.
