PolyGram is an on-chain prediction market where you trade YES or NO outcome shares with real USDC on Polygon. For this market, buy YES if you believe the event will happen, or NO if you think it won't. Your maximum loss is your stake — winning shares pay $1.00 each at resolution. Unlike sportsbooks, there is no house edge: prices are set by supply and demand from other traders and reflect the crowd's real-time probability.

The 2026 NHL first-round playoff series between the Carolina Hurricanes and Ottawa Senators will determine which team advances to the second round. The Hurricanes currently trade at 100% implied probability on Polymarket's order book, reflecting the market's assessment that Carolina will win the best-of-seven matchup. This probability formation reflects real-time trading activity and available liquidity at current price levels; traders entering positions should note the settlement window closes 4 May 2026, with a fallback to 50-50 resolution if the series remains incomplete by 31 May 2026.
Historical context for first-round matchups between comparable seeds shows that seeding advantage and regular-season performance typically correlate with playoff outcomes, though upsets occur in roughly 25–30% of first-round series. The Hurricanes have been a consistent playoff contender in recent seasons, whilst the Senators have experienced more volatility in their postseason appearances. Current market pricing at 100% reflects either strong confidence in Carolina's superiority or potential illiquidity at the extremes of the probability spectrum.
Key catalysts affecting this market include injury reports in the weeks preceding the series, final regular-season standings confirmation, and any roster moves during the trade deadline. The NHL's playoff schedule typically begins in mid-April, with first-round series concluding by late May. Traders should monitor official NHL announcements regarding playoff format changes or scheduling adjustments, as any postponement extending beyond 31 May 2026 would trigger the 50-50 resolution clause regardless of series status.
