Resolution criteria on PolyGram: This market will resolve to "Up" if the Close price for South Korea ETF (EWY) on May 12, 2026 is higher than the Close price for South Korea ETF (EWY) on the most recent prior trading day. This market will resolve to "Down" if the Close price for South Korea ETF (EWY) on May 12, 2026 is lower than the Close price for South Korea ETF (EWY) on the most recent prior trading day. E.g., ordinarily, a market on Monday would refer to the previous Friday for its most recent closing price, unless that Friday were a market holiday, in which case it would refer to Thursday, or the next most recent trading day. If the two specified closing prices are exactly equal, this market will resolve 50-50.
PolyGram is an on-chain prediction market where you trade YES or NO outcome shares with real USDC on Polygon. For this market, buy YES if you believe the event will happen, or NO if you think it won't. Your maximum loss is your stake — winning shares pay $1.00 each at resolution. Unlike sportsbooks, there is no house edge: prices are set by supply and demand from other traders and reflect the crowd's real-time probability.

| EWY (EWY) Up or Down on May 12? | 49% YES | 52% NO |
South Korea's iShares MSCI South Korea ETF (EWY) will close on 12 May 2026, and this market resolves based on whether that closing price exceeds the prior trading day's close. The crowd on Polymarket's order book currently implies a 53% probability of an up move, suggesting near-parity expectations for single-day directional movement. This probability reflects the typical volatility profile of Korean equities and broader market sentiment as of today's pricing.
Single-day equity ETF movements of this nature historically cluster around 50-50 odds absent specific catalysts, with realised daily moves for EWY averaging roughly 0.8-1.2% in magnitude. The current 53% YES lean is modest and consistent with how prediction markets price directional bets when no material news is anticipated. Comparable single-day resolution markets on major equity ETFs tend to see probabilities drift toward 50% as settlement approaches, unless earnings announcements, macroeconomic data, or geopolitical events shift expectations materially.
Traders monitoring this position should track South Korean economic data releases scheduled near the settlement window, including any Bank of Korea policy communications or corporate earnings surprises from major constituents like Samsung and SK Hynix. US equity futures and broader risk sentiment on 11-12 May will also influence Korean market direction, as will any developments in US-Korea trade relations. The order book depth on Polymarket will reveal whether informed traders are positioning ahead of known events or treating this as a pure volatility bet.

The mechanics for trading "EWY (EWY) Up or Down on May 12?" are the same as any other PolyGram event contract. Each YES share resolves to $1 if the event happens, or $0 if it doesn't. The current price between 0¢ and 100¢ is the market's probability estimate, set live by the order book.
$0 in lifetime turnover and $346 of resting liquidity puts this market in the below the median by volume for finance contracts on PolyGram. Order-book depth is thin — large orders may need to be split across the book or executed as limit orders.
The market has been open for under a month — fresh enough that information asymmetry remains a real factor.
