Resolution criteria on PolyGram: This market will resolve to "Yes" if Sean "Diddy" Combs is released from custody between market creation and December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". If Sean Combs is released but remains under house arrest, the market will still resolve to "Yes". If Sean Combs is released on parole, bond, or any other condition that results in them leaving state custody, the market will resolve to "Yes". Transporting Sean Combs to another location of custody (e.g., a different prison, court, or hospital within the correctional system) will not suffice to resolve this market to "Yes".
PolyGram is an on-chain prediction market where you trade YES or NO outcome shares with real USDC on Polygon. For this market, buy YES if you believe the event will happen, or NO if you think it won't. Your maximum loss is your stake — winning shares pay $1.00 each at resolution. Unlike sportsbooks, there is no house edge: prices are set by supply and demand from other traders and reflect the crowd's real-time probability.
Market outcomes
| Diddy released from custody in 2026? | 14% YES | 86% NO |
Sean "Diddy" Combs faces federal charges including racketeering and sex trafficking following his arrest in September 2024. He has been held in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Centre in Brooklyn whilst awaiting trial. The resolution criteria specify that any release from state custody—whether via acquittal, bond, parole, or house arrest—triggers a "Yes" outcome before the end of 2026. The current order book on Polymarket implies a 14% probability of release within this timeframe, reflecting market participants' assessment of both legal and procedural pathways to freedom.
Comparable high-profile federal cases involving similar charges typically span 18–36 months from arrest to trial conclusion, though timelines vary considerably. R. Kelly's racketeering trial took approximately two years from arrest to conviction in 2021, whilst other complex federal cases have extended longer. The detention status of high-profile defendants often hinges on bail hearings and appellate decisions rather than swift trial resolution. Current market pricing suggests traders view a 2026 release as unlikely but non-negligible, balancing the possibility of successful bail appeals or early legal victories against the typical duration of federal prosecutions.
Key catalysts include scheduled bail hearings, trial commencement dates, and any appellate rulings on detention. Recent reporting from outlets including Reuters and the Associated Press has tracked developments in discovery and pre-trial motions. Traders monitoring this market should watch for announcements regarding trial scheduling, changes in bail conditions, or significant legal rulings that could alter custody status. The resolution window's endpoint of 31 December 2026 means the market effectively prices the probability of release within approximately two years of the initial arrest.
Resolution is handled by the UMA optimistic oracle on Polygon. A proposer submits the outcome, a two-hour dispute window opens, and if no one stakes a counter-claim the payout is final. Contested outcomes escalate to UMA token-holder voting. Payouts clear in USDC to the winning side.
The mechanics for trading "Diddy released from custody in 2026?" are the same as any other PolyGram event contract. Each YES share resolves to $1 if the event happens, or $0 if it doesn't. The current price between 0¢ and 100¢ is the market's probability estimate, set live by the order book.
$2K in lifetime turnover and $462 of resting liquidity puts this market in the below the median by volume for celebrities contracts on PolyGram. Order-book depth is thin — large orders may need to be split across the book or executed as limit orders.
Last 24 hours alone saw $5 in turnover, consistent with the market's lifetime daily-average pace.
The market has been open for under a month — fresh enough that information asymmetry remains a real factor.
Higher-volume markets tend to have tighter spreads and faster price discovery — meaning the displayed YES/NO percentages are more likely to reflect the true crowd-implied probability rather than a single trader's directional view.
As of today, traders on Polymarket price this outcome at 14%. The number updates continuously as the order book clears. PolyGram mirrors the same live odds with locale-aware formatting and USDC settlement.
